Here I am in Lisbon

Judging by the decorations, it must be nearly Christmas

Oh look, scaffolding

This beautiful building is a train station

And this one an old cinema

I visit the Castle of St. Jorge

This is where I'm headed next

But first I take a moment to appreciate the view

And to explore the castle

I'm definitely getting that Christmas feeling

And into the main square

Before I leave, I take a tram to Belem - not quite as far as this map suggests

It is a cool November day

Before I leave, I visit the tower

And the monastery

Venice

Venice - city of water

What was I thinking?!

I try to stay on dry land as much as possible as I explore the myriad of churches

As well as the other beautiful buildings

I am not even tempted to take a ride on one of the many gondolas

Unfortunately it's impossible to avoid the water entirely

But it is a beautiful city

I visit the famous Rialto Bridge

Before finishing in St. Mark's Square

Just in time for sunset

Ljubljana

Almost there now - here I am in Ljubljana

Cold, drizzly Ljubljana

The river is swollen because of all the rain - I am terrified of falling in

Everyone is hiding from the rain - I practically have the city to myself

I visit the famous dragon - I think he is as unhappy in the rain as I am

Look! People!

I take shelter in a courtyard

Before I venture back out

I decide to explore the castle

It's so cold I've been forced to take drastic measures - do you like my sweater?

I decide to climb the tower, hoping for a view through the drizzle

Up the narrow, winding staircase

But there is a view!

A quick trip down on the funicular

And I say goodbye to the kangaroo as I leave Ljubljana
